QAYG Placemat with Decorative Stitching - Appleton
Quilt-as-you-Go Placemat. This is a different method of Quilt-as-you Go than the one using templates. Finished size will be approx. 13” x 18”. Once you learn the technique, you can make them in any size.
You will make a placemat using your regular sewing machine and some of those decorative stitches that you never thought you would use. Besides using fun stitches, this is a perfect opportunity to experiment with a variety of threads, including some of the variegated threads, embroidery threads, etc.
If you don’t have a lot of stitches on your machine, this is a great time to experiment with different threads.
You can use any fabric of your choice. It can be scrappy, solid colors, kid’s fabrics, or even something in red, white & blue for summer holidays. Think about making a set to give as shower gifts or even start early to make Christmas gifts.
Students will provide their own materials but fabric, thread & batting is available for purchase at your class discount.
