Wonky Houses Applique Placemats
What a fun opportunity to combine quilting and applique! In this class, you will create a quilted placemat on your regular sewing machine, then add precut, prefused applique pieces to form a delightful house-themed design. You can use a single fabric or mix-and-match for a scrappy look — the choice is yours.

Each month, we will feature a different house color and theme word (“Home,” “Joy,” “Hope,” “Love”). You are welcome to take just one session or sign up for all four — if you complete all four placemats, your final class fee is waived.

Class Fee: $25 per session (includes extra time if needed)
Materials: Applique house and tree set ($15 per placemat), optional applique words ($12 for all four words). Students provide their own fabrics, batting, backing, and sewing supplies.

This class is offered in both Appleton and Green Bay. Columbus shop dates are anticipated later this summer.

Green Bay Dates:

• "Home" (dark rose) – Saturday, June 28

• "Joy" (blue house) – Saturday, July 19

• "Hope" (yellow house) – Saturday, August 23

• "Love" (red house) – Saturday, September 20

Appleton Dates:

• "Home" (dark rose) – Wednesday, July 9

• "Joy" (blue house) – Wednesday, August 13

• "Hope" (yellow house) – Wednesday, September 10

• "Love" (red house) – Wednesday, October 8

Time: 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM (bring a lunch or snack)
Spaces Available: 8 per session

What to Bring:

• Sewing machine in good working order (with power cord and foot control)

• Needles (90/14 topstitch; 80/12 or 75/11 universal)

• Walking foot or ruler foot if preferred

• Fabric, batting, and backing for each placemat (approx. 15” x 21” with additional fabric for binding)

• Coordinating thread

• Basic sewing tools: applique pressing sheet, mat, iron, tweezers, scissors, pins, binding clips, fabric markers, light box (optional), cutting mat, rulers, rotary cutter

Scheduling Note: You will complete one placemat per class — work at your convenience or at home between sessions. If you need help, we’re here for you.
