Ever wonder how those beautiful, precise quilting designs are made? You don’t need a longarm to get professional results! Join Vonnie at Ana’s Sewing Studio to discover the art of Rulerwork for Beginners.

In this monthly class, we will demystify the process of using templates and rulers on your home sewing machine. We’ll be working on small quilt sandwiches that can later be joined together using the "Quilt As You Go" technique. You’ll learn how to use every template in the Sew Steady Beginner Essentials Kit, starting with sample blocks and moving on to creating your own custom designs on paper first. You might just be surprised by your own artistic side!

This is a recurring monthly class designed to build your confidence one step at a time. While you don’t need to attend every session, the more you come, the more your skills will grow.

Dates: Wednesdays — March 25, April 29, May 20, June 24, & July 29

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Location: Ana’s Sewing Studio – Appleton  (Classes also meet in Green Bay on different days if you would like to take classes there)

Cost: $15 per class

What to Bring: 
? Sewing machine in good working order, power cord, foot pedal (a MUST), manual, extra bobbins, extra needles (90/14 Topstitch for most machines; purple tip for most Janome machines).
? Quilt sandwiches – bring several. Top fabric should be plain so stitches can be seen easily, cotton or other low loft batting and any quilting quality fabric on the back. Poor quality fabrics don’t always work well. Please starch your top fabric prior to class.
? Thread that will contrast with your top fabric. Aurifil, Konfetti, King Tut, So Fine, or most embroidery threads will work well. It’s easiest of your bobbin thread is the same weight as the top thread.
? Fabric markers, smaller quilting ruler for drawing lines, seam ripper, small scissors, spacing gauge, stitching line discs, quilting gloves if you use them
? Sew Steady Beginner Essentials Ruler Set and ruler foot for your machine**
? Extension table for your machine and a glider**
? Crosshair square** (usually included with Beginner Set)

Note: All supplies, including rulers and extension tables, are available at Ana’s Sewing Studio with your class discount.
